October 25, 2011 Check out "Education Speaks," a blog devoted
to educational issues in NYS
The Niskayuna school community is invited to
check out Education Speaks, a blog initiated by
Capital Region BOCES devoted to thoughtful
discussion on issues shaping public education in
the region and the state.
The district is placing a permanent link to "Ed
Speaks" on the right-hand side of its homepage
beneath the calendar items and other community
links.
From the Blog: About Education Speaks
Education Speaks is devoted to a thoughtful
discussion of the issues shaping public
education in New York’s Greater Capital Region
and beyond.
Ed Speaks is sponsored by Capital Region BOCES,
in collaboration with Questar III BOCES, HFM
BOCES, WSHWE BOCES and the Genesee Valley
Educational Partnership. The mission of
Education Speaks is to work toward smart
solutions to education’s biggest problems. Guest
bloggers are leaders of our public schools —
rural, urban and suburban alike — sharing
insights on the issues people in their schools
and communities care deeply about. Guest
bloggers are backed by an editorial team from
the Capital Region BOCES Communications Service
who help moderate Education Speaks and work to
keep a constructive conversation going.
Regular readers of this blog will discover that
education leaders don’t always speak with one
voice — but then again neither does the public.
What Education Speaks does provide is a
consistently compelling perspective on the
promise and peril in our public schools — from
the people who lead them.
Our goal is to advance a deeper understanding of
education issues and to help move the
conversation forward, toward new and creative
solutions to the challenges facing our public
schools.
