Transition Workshops for 2011-12:
Planning for life
after high school for students with disabilities can be a daunting
task. Come hear professionals discuss topics pertinent to transition
planning. These Parent Transition Sessions are being collaboratively
offered by Transition Consultants from several school districts
throughout the area.

Susanne Poulette receives CASHA Distinguished Service Award
Susanne Poulette, a speech therapist at Hillside Elementary School, was presented with the 2010 Capital Area Speech-Language & Hearing Association (CASHA) Distinguished Service Award on Oct. 25. This award is presented annually to a speech-language pathologist or audiologist or individual who has made outstanding contributions to the fields of speech-language pathology or audiology, to the communicatively impaired or to professional organizations that serve these groups.

resources for teachers of students with special
needs
Online
resources on the H1N1 virus are available for
teachers of students with special needs through
the
One Place for Special Needs Web site.
Included are lesson plans on germs, videos
demonstrating correct hand washing, sneezing and
coughing into your sleeve, activities, social
stories and more. Other links include preparing
for an emergency, flu tracker and CDC’s H1N1
guidelines for early childhood programs, K-12
schools and higher education.
